Mr. Gurnee is the founding partner of Gurnee Mason Rushford Bonotto & Forestiere, LLP. His practice is focused on civil trial work primarily from the defense perspective with an emphasis on high exposure, complex cases involving
professional negligence, employment, products liability, construction defects, flood, fire and agricultural losses, insurance and personal injury.

He is known as an expert in the defense of claims related to the funeral and cemetery industries and legal malpractice. He and his firm are regularly engaged in multi-party litigation and class action cases throughout California.

He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, the Université d’Aix-Marseilles in France, and the University of California, San Diego (B.A. 1971), obtained his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco (J.D. 1975), and was admitted to the California State Bar the same year. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern and Central Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
