COVID-19 and China’s Moral Crisis

This Month’s Speaker: Mr. Nan Su, Epoch Times, Senior Reporter

About the Speaker:

Born and raised in China, Mr. Nan Su came to the U.S. in 1989. Mr. Su has been serving as a news commentator for SOH International Chinese Radio Network and NTD International TV network since 2003, and has made many speeches at public events in the past decade on China-related topics.

Mr. Su currently is a senior reporter at The Epoch Times, a newspaper published in 35 countries and 21 languages.

In addition to his media work, Mr. Su has also been an activist for China’s human rights. He was one of the coordinators of Human Rights Torch Relay in 2008 prior to Beijing Olympics Game. The Relay spanned from July 2007 to July 2008, with stops at more than 140 cities around the world in order to raise international awareness of China’s human rights situation.

Mr. Su has been married for 30 years, and currently lives with his wife and two daughters in San Jose, California.

About the Presentation:

With millions of people infected, Covid-19 has brought the world’s attention to Chinese regime’s cover up of the pandemic information. China’s ethical standards and moral values once again have become a hot issue.

Traditional Chinese culture has lasted for more than 5,000 years. No civilization without ethical standards and moral values can endure such a long history.

But what are those values from China’s tradition, and where are they now?

For Americans to understand and to face the challenges brought to the free world by the current Chinese regime, the discussion about the traditional Chinese culture is more important than ever before.

Titled “Covid-19 and China’s Moral Crisis”, this new presentation is the latest one following the previous well-received programs: “Wisdom and Humanity from Ancient Chinese Culture”, and “The Renaissance of Traditional Chinese Culture”.

These series of programs have been presented to and overwhelmingly welcomed by hundreds of organizations in Northern California since 2013.

While the previous programs revealed the ancient philosophies which the traditional culture was built based upon, this latest presentation focuses more on the current moral crisis caused by the CCP regime.

President’s Message:

Thank you, fellow, SPEPC Members and friends of SPEPC for your continued commitment to our estate planning community during these 2020 challenging times. We recognize that this is not a typical estate planning related topic. We usually do not hold a meeting in November, but given our virtual format we wanted to offer another opportunity to connect with our estate planning community. This should be a fascinating topic and speaker, relevant for our 2020 COVID-19 impacted world.

On another note, we are currently seeking to fill the Board Position for Speaker Coordinator for the 2021/2020 term. As a speaker coordinator, you would have the opportunity to find engaging Estate Planning speakers and topics. Please contact me if you are interested in the position for the upcoming election.
